Grossnickle Church of the Brethren

Pastor Kinley Simmers came to Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in April 2025. He comes to Myersville from the small town of Broadway, VA, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. His faith journey started when he was a child going to Linville Creek Church of the Brethren with his grandparents. He graduated from Bridgewater College with his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education in 1995 and was a Physical Education Teacher for 24 years in Rockingham County, VA. He has had a call from God to be a pastor since high school, but God sent him on the journey as a teacher to prepare him to be a pastor. He started his pastoral journey as the youth pastor at Grace Mennonite Fellowship in Lacey Spring, VA, from 2015-2019, all while still being a full-time teacher. During that time, he got his Master's of Art and Ministry from Bethel University Indiana. In 2019, he started as a pastor at Trinity UCC in Timberville, VA, and in 2020, he officially quit teaching to focus on being a pastor. He was officially ordained in 2021.
