After the carols are sung, after the family is gone, after the tree is down and after the gifts are opened - then comes January. After all the joy and energy and love experienced during the Christmas season, the month of January often brings a time of feeling "blue." And if you're lost loved ones in recent moths or years, or if your loved ones died around this particular time of year, then January can be really blue.
You're invited to attend a Blue New Year Service. This will be the tenth year for this type of service . James Gang, one of the church's care-giving groups, initiated the first one which was held on January 2009.
We will come together and worship for a few moments by hearing the words of scripture again, and by signing together, praying together and lighting candles together in memory of our loved ones who have died in the last while. It will be a time of remembrance, hope and faith.
All are welcome. For more information, please contact the church office at 301-293-9516.
