Annual Pig Roast and Silent Auction
Save this date, because you’re invited to our Annual PIG ROAST -- Saturday, February 20 at 6:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Featured items on the menu include roast pork, hog maw, and delicious ham and bean soup! Our thanks to the donor of the pig, who prefers to remain anonymous, and to the Deacons for hosting this event!
The Pig Roast is a hearty meal enjoyed in the company of Christian fellowship on a cold winter’s night! Place settings, and hot coffee and iced tea will also be provided. Please bring hot or cold side dishes, desserts, and sodas to share.
If you are a senior citizen who prefers not to drive at night and you do not have a personal contact to provide transportation, you may call the Deacons of the Month, Gene and Marilyn Gaver, 301-293-2204. They will be pleased to arrange transportation so you may attend the Pig Roast.
A special feature of the evening will be a Silent Auction hosted by the Junior and Senior High Youth. Proceeds from the auction will be used to offset the expenses of participants in this summer’s work camps and National Youth Conference. Your donations of high-quality auction items, such as quilts, wall hangings, paintings, wood crafts, etc. are needed.
If you love hand-crafted creations, or enjoy fresh home-baked goodies, this auction is for you! Plus – you can have the joy of helping others! Donated non-food items may be brought to the church February 17, 18, and 19, and before 9:00 am Saturday morning, February 20.
Baked items, such as home-made cakes and pies, may be brought the night of the auction. (please remember to label them with your name and the ingredients, and wrap them securely).
If you cannot deliver your donations, you may call one of the adult coordinators, Christy Kehlbeck, 301-293-9934, Martha Harshman, 301-293-1742, or Debbie Bussard, 301-293-1220, to arrange for pick-up.
